Conditions of adoptation

You can currently email our colleague at the orokbefogadas@rex.hu e-mail address. Please look at our animals for adoption before applying. If you find an animal based on the photo and description whom you are interested in, please fill in the adoption questionnaire.

After receiving the questionnaire, we will be looking for you, depending on the number of applications and the number of questionnaires to be processed, they can take from 1-2 days to a week. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Before adoption, we ask for at least 2 visits, when you get acquainted with the animal to be adopted, they can be taken home for the 3rd time. The minimum period of rotation is minimum 3 days, maximum 2 weeks, if the individuality of the animal does not wish to have a longer visiting time. We are not able to detain any animal for more than 2 weeks, so please submit your application to us only AFTER travelling or moving!

Dogs up to the age of 6 months receive the following care at the Foundation: external and internal parasite removal, vaccination against infectious diseases, microchip implantation, over 6 months of age: external and internal parasite removal, vaccination against infectious diseases, microchip implantation, neutering, dirofilaria test. In order to provide similar care to animals coming to the Foundation in the future, we ask you to contribute to the further operation of the system by offering at least HUF 30 000 for dogs under the age of 6 months, HUF 35 000 for dogs over 6 months of age, and HUF 60,000 for purebred dogs.

Cats receive the following care at the Foundation: under the age of 6 months: external and internal parasite removal, at least two vaccinations against infectious diseases, microchip implantation, over 6 months of age: external and internal parasite removal, at least two vaccinations against infectious diseases, microchip implantation, neutering, screening tests for infectious diseases (FeLV, FIV, FIP). In order to provide similar care to animals coming to the Foundation in the future, we ask that you to contribute at least HUF 20,000 for cats under 6 months of age, HUF 25,000 for cats over 6 months of age, and and HUF 40,000 for purebred cats.

Important information for tenants

In the case of prospective owners who do not own their residence or live in a rental, we strongly request that they carefully reconsider their intention to adopt the chosen four-legged companion multiple times. Most rental agreements are concluded for a relatively short period (usually one year) compared to the lifespan of a dog or cat. In the event of an unexpected termination of the lease, tenants typically have only a few weeks to find a new, suitable home for the animal. Based on our experience, this often fails, resulting in pets that were previously family members being returned to the shelter.

For our animals with a troubled past, a change in environment can sometimes cause significant emotional stress, which may manifest as damage to the home, continuous barking that disturbs other household members, or previously unobserved behavioral issues.

If you are prepared for all of the above and have decided to take responsibility for the animal, we kindly ask that the Consent Form provided by the Shelter, duly signed and authorized by the landlord/owner, be submitted to us.

WHAT WE RECOMMEND CONSIDERING AND CONSIDER BEFORE SEEKING ADOPTION:

After the adoption of the animal, all the tasks, responsibilities and costs of keeping the animal are borne solely by the adopter. It is advisable to think about whether you can take on these obligations. Wherever the new four-legged family member gets to us, the most important thing is to choose the partner that best adapts to our living conditions and best suits our lifestyle!
